If you visited this journal from the web sites which are hosted on Bravenet's or Insight's web servers, then click on this link to visit my real site Dragon's Open-Source Compendium!!

I am just using Bravenet's and Insight's hosting service as a portal to the site on my own Apache web server and would appreciate any information or suggestions on how my site is operating!
I am new at setting up web sites completely from scratch and could really use your input!!

I have set up my own L.A.M.P. server (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP), and I am doing all the configurations as well as designing and adding content to the site! So I am obviously very strapped for time and can not quality check the site as I would like to!

This is where I could really use your input as to how the site is running on the various computers, browsers, and operating systems that you may be using to visit this site. You can leave you comments at dragon-64@insightbb.com and thank you for any help or advice you feel like providing!!

Here are ways to help you customize your journal:

Ready to start writing? There are many ways in which you can post:

When you post an entry, you can use an "LJ-Cut" to hide everything underneath it with a link. This is useful for really long entries, hiding spoilers, and is usually done as a courtesy for your friends' Friends page.

- Private: The eyeball by entries like this one means that only you can see it.

- Friends-Only: The lock means only people you've added as a friend can see this post. You can also create custom friend groups so only a select few can read your entry.

Other ways to post an entry:
Voice Post - Say your post over the phone and we'll magically post the audio to your journal.
Mobile Post - Post photos and text from your mobile phone.
TxtLJ - Interact and post via text message.
LJ Talk - Post to your journal with LiveJournal's instant messaging feature.

Discover LiveJournal's true sense of community:

This journal will be mostly about the Debian-like Ubuntu Operating System and the great community which supports it! I will start with the meaning of the word Ubuntu and it's philosophy! And then explain how it can make your computing experience so much better than the experience you will find with Microsoft Windows!!

Their new release is called Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon. They have developed two great new systems, one system is for desktop users, and the other one is a server operating system! I will describe both systems and their properties, and also supply links for a more in-depth description of both systems!

And then I will work my way back through the history of Ubuntu which was started back in April 2004. I will also be talking about the history of the Unix/Minix operating systems, and how a minix-lookalike for AT-386 computers was morphed into Linux by Linus Benedict Torvalds at the University of Helsinki.

How Linux was started with Linus Benedict Torvalds desires for a better operating system to take advantage of the free software coming out of the GNU project created by Richard Stallman, who also created the Emacs editor.

As well as GNU and the Free Software Foundation and the GNU General Public License, and the whole Open-Source world that they are a part of!!
